Who We Are

Data We Collect

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not track which articles you read or how long you spend on them
• We do not collect your IP address beyond what Cloudflare processes in transit to deliver the service
• We do not build advertising profiles or share data with ad networks
• We do not use third-party analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.)
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data — ever

Third-Party Services

• Google Firebase Authentication — handles sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — delivers push notifications. Your device token is transmitted to FCM when you enable notifications.
• Cloudflare Workers & KV — powers our backend infrastructure. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Push notification tokens are deleted automatically when they become invalid. You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, and delete the data we hold about you. EU and UK residents have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact us through the service.

Children

Wameed is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We will update the effective date above when this policy changes. Continued use of Wameed after changes constitutes acceptance.

Cookies vs. Local Storage

Wameed is a Progressive Web App (PWA) and does not set HTTP cookies for tracking or advertising. We use your browser's localStorage to store your settings on your device only.

What We Store Locally

Firebase Authentication Cookies

Google Firebase sets session cookies strictly for authentication when you are signed in. These are functional only — not used for advertising or tracking.

No Advertising Cookies

Wameed does not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party advertising scripts run on this site.

Controlling Your Data

Clear all stored data at any time through your browser settings (Clear Site Data). This resets your preferences but does not affect your server-side account data.

Acceptance

By accessing or using Wameed, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Wameed Is

Wameed is a news aggregation service. We collect publicly available RSS feeds from third-party publishers and display headlines with direct links to the original articles. We do not produce original journalism. All article content remains the intellectual property of the original publisher.

Free Service

Wameed is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future. The core news feed will remain accessible for free. We will provide advance notice of any material changes.

Accounts

You may use Wameed without an account. Creating an account enables saved preferences and push notifications. You are responsible for your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from Wameed
• Attempt unauthorised access to our backend systems or APIs
• Use Wameed to distribute spam, malware, or illegal content
• Impersonate Wameed or its operators
• Attempt to circumvent any security or technical measures

Disclaimer of Warranties

Wameed is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of news content sourced from third-party publishers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wameed and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on news content displayed.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of Jordanian courts.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will update the effective date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Wameed does not currently have user-generated content features. These guidelines govern use of the service and will expand if community features are introduced.

Core Principles

• News integrity: We aggregate from verifiable, established news sources only. We do not knowingly include misinformation or propaganda.
• No manipulation: Do not attempt to manipulate the feed, notification system, or other users' accounts.
• Respect: Treat other users and the service with respect regardless of nationality, religion, or political view.

Source Standards

We aggregate from news organisations with editorial standards. We do not include sources that publish fabricated news, incite violence or hatred, or violate applicable press standards. If a source begins publishing such content, we will remove it upon becoming aware.

Reporting Issues

If you encounter a broken feed, misinformation, or any content concern, report it through the contact form on the service. We review all reports.

How Aggregation Works

Wameed reads RSS feeds — a standard technology that publishers use to distribute their headlines publicly. We display: the article headline, publication date, source name, and a direct link to the full article. We do not reproduce article body text, images, or any other content.

Publisher Rights & Removal

If you are a publisher and wish to have your RSS feed removed from Wameed, contact us through the service and we will remove your feed within 48 hours. We respect all content creators and act promptly on legitimate removal requests.

Wameed's Own Intellectual Property

The Wameed application, UI design, logo, and brand assets are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from Wameed's interface or branding without written permission.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on Wameed infringes your copyright, contact us through the service with: the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, the specific URL where the content appears, and your contact information. We will respond within 10 business days.

Service Classification

Wameed is an online platform providing news aggregation services accessible to users in the European Union. Based on current user numbers, Wameed qualifies as a micro-enterprise under the EU Digital Services Act (fewer than 10 employees, annual turnover below €2 million). Obligations applicable only to larger platforms do not apply at this time.

Content We Display

Wameed displays headlines from publicly available RSS feeds of established news organisations. We do not host user-generated content. All content originates from third-party publishers and we link directly to the original source.

Reporting Illegal Content

If you believe any content accessible through Wameed is illegal under EU law, report it through the service with: the specific URL or content, the legal basis for your claim, and your contact information. We will acknowledge and investigate promptly.

Algorithmic Transparency (DSA Article 29)

Wameed does not operate an algorithmic recommender system as defined by the DSA. Content is ordered solely by publication date (most recent first) combined with your explicitly chosen source and topic filters. No automated profiling, engagement signals, or commercial relationships influence what you see.

Advertising Transparency

Wameed does not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced in the future, it will be clearly labelled and never embedded within the news feed in a way that could be mistaken for editorial content. This section will be updated accordingly.
